Mathematical attitude has important implications for students’ career development. However, the work focused on examining the reliability and validity of mathematical attitude scales is limited in mainland China. This study developed a scale for researchers to test students’ mathematical attitude based on the characteristics of educational system in mainland China. The target scale was developed based on cross validation of two samples of high school students from mainland China. The results show the reliable for the finalized scale consisting of four subscales: emotion (i.e., α = .70 with 8 items), value (i.e., α = .69 with 6 items), anxiety (i.e., α = .90 with 13 items), and self-confidence (i.e., α = .91 with 11 items).
