Although many studies have investigated factors correlated with teachers’ job satisfaction, few studies focused on the factors influencing STEM teachers’ job satisfaction from the lens of job demands and job resources. Based on the job-demands-resources perspective, this study constructed a STEM teachers’ job satisfaction model and aimed to identify the contributions of the two approaches to improve STEM teachers’ job satisfaction. The finding shows that the factor of job resources had a strong positive effect while job demands had a general negative effect on STEM teachers’ job satisfaction. The findings provide thoughts for school administrators and policymakers regarding effective strategies to moderate the shortage of certified STEM teachers.
