Curricular Liminality in Embordered Spaces: Story Circles as Complicated Conversation

Fri, April 17, 4:05 to 5:35pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

This paper draws from two larger qualitative studies to locate and explore the roots and routes of story circle protocols, and more broadly critical dialogue as a generatively liminal space of potential curricular resistance-- “to interrupt, to call out and call into question” grim realities of educational and broader social policies” particularly as these pertain to this curricular moment in curricular spaces of two Hispanic Serving Institutions on the US/Mexican border (Fassett & Warren, 2007, p. 83).
