The objective of this integrated literature review is to insert a discussion of a body of scholarship that has been largely overlooked in efforts to expand quantitative methodological innovations in educational research—Chicana feminist scholarship. We argue that a Chicana feminist approach to quantitative methods embraces the contradictions of positivistic binaries of Western thought by offering a space to theorize strategies for uncovering the ways that numbers are both race and gender conscious. We trace the genealogy of feminist thought, quantitative methodologies and critical perspectives in education, and Chicana feminist methodologies across two databases in the social sciences. We conclude by offering a working definition of a Chicana feminist quantitative research agenda to engage in alternative modes of theory and method.
