Examining the Intersectionality of Spirituality, Social Support, and Self-Esteem on Haitian Nursing Students' Resilience

Abstract

Haitian Nurses academic attainment is missing from the scholarly journal and the academic discourse. Therefore, the purpose of this exploratory, descriptive, correlational pilot inquiry is to understand the impact of religion, support systems, self-esteem on the resilience of Haitian Nurses who participate in an RN completion program. Overall, fifty-one participants completed complete the demographic informational survey, Connor-Davidson Scale CD, Rosenberg Self-Esteem, Social Support Systems. The findings will assist Haitian educators in creating strategies for student nurses’ success, especially in a country with sparse-educational resources and opportunities. Most crucial, these bachelor degree nurses will be equipped with more critical-thinking and analytical-reasoning skills to participate in the nurse practitioner program, where the graduates will supplement the shortage of physicians.
