Abstract

Simulation technology has been used as viable alternatives to provide a real life setting in teacher education. We use mixed reality classroom simulations to provide pre-service teachers with opportunities to practice knowledge and skills of working with English learners. Using a multiple case study and grounded theory, this study documents how pre-service teachers practice linguistically responsive teaching strategies and how they perceive this simulation experience relating to their learning to teach English learners.
