"It Is Time for Us to Look Back": Narratives of Three Asian Educators

Abstract

This duo-ethnographic work presents narratives of two other colleagues and me from Viet Nam, Taiwan, and South Korea, with different lived and witnessed experiences of inequities in education caused by the Three Teachings: Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, on Vietnamese, Taiwanese, and South Korean education. The research findings are the grey areas of the Three Teachings against the marginalized in Asian education and the belief in arts for social change. After the research, I realize that we each have been enlightened in unexpected ways of acquiring new knowledge.
