District and School Leaders' Efforts to Facilitate the Gender Transition of One High School Teacher

Abstract

This qualitative case study examined the efforts of district and school level leaders to facilitate the gender transition of one high school teacher over a two-year period. This project draws on in-depth interviews and document collection to examine the specific actions and approaches school leaders took to discourage marginalization and support the inclusion of a transgender teacher in their school community.
