Despite the formal institution of education, schooling accounts for no more than one-third of the variation in students' academic achievement. Engaging in a variety of out-of-school time (OST) math learning is perceived as one supplemental approach to obtain advantages in math achievement. OST math activities and programs might not only be the hidden curriculum of high performance but also profoundly impact inequalities. However, much less is known about the mechanism of OST math learning on human development beyond academic outcomes. Drawn from the information of Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2012, this study investigates the multi-level determinants of attending OST math classes and its relationships with PISA math performance and study behaviors. The findings have significant conceptual and practical implications.
