Effect of an Intervention for the Promotion of Readiness to Learn in Higher Education

Sat, April 18, 8:15 to 9:45am, Virtual Room

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of an intra-curricular intervention for the promotion of readiness to learn in university students. The study design was of quasi-experimental type, with an experimental group and a control group, with pre and post intervention measurement. The type of sampling was non-probabilistic, for convenience. The sample consisted of 205 Chilean freshman university students. 110 students participated in the experimental group and 95 in the control group. The courses were randomly assigned to the control or experimental group. The results, obtained through an analysis of the Hierarchical Linear Model of Mixed Effects, showed that the program had a significant impact on students' willingness to study
