This theoretical paper involves reflections on our ethical choices as Black and Brown qualitative researchers. In what ways did we Other Others and in what ways did we resist contributing to the narrative of people of color that exists in the White imagination? How did our research and our ethical choices protect our communities (or not)? How did our research and ethical choices help our communities (or not)? In keeping with the theme of this year’s conference, we also interrogate the ways we did (or did not) include relevant stakeholders in our educational research.
