Unlearning in the Workplace: Review and Recommendations

Mon, April 20, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to critically review the current studies on organizational unlearning, to integrate the findings to provide insights on how to better facilitate the process of organizational unlearning, and to identify gaps in the research to guide future studies on organizational unlearning in the field of human resource development. By reviewing the selected 35 articles, we identified the presage, process and product categories in the 3-P model (Tynjälä, 2013) of each article for unlearning. Additionally, we summarized 99 variables related to unlearning, including the presage (49), process (5), and product (45) components.
