This study qualitatively examines teachers’ experiences in a mindfulness-based yoga program (CALM) based on their levels of attendance. Nineteen participants were divided into one of four focus groups based on attendance: Low (1-15; M=7), Medium (12-40; M=24), High (30-39; M=34), Highest (48-55; M=52) and were interviewed after receiving CALM. Two coders adopted a theoretical, thematic analytical approach running matrix analyses to compare prevalence of outcomes between attendance groups. Although all groups noted changes in somatic awareness, results indicated the largest differences between low attenders and all other groups, especially around acting with mindful awareness, setting an intention, and showing gratitude and positive mindset. Results can inform whether participation in yoga-based mindfulness can lessen teacher burnout and improve wellbeing.
