Abstract

This study reports findings from a larger qualitative study which explored eight veteran teachers experiences of how their school leaders influenced their professional growth by providing a healthy or unhealthy school climate. The findings suggest that school leadership is paramount in teachers’ professional growth, which impacts overall school success. Implications for school leaders are discussed, including the importance of principals’ understanding of how their leadership affects teachers and students alike.
