This study aimed to investigate the effects of implementing different online instant response systems (IRSs) in remedial mathematics classrooms. The participants were randomly assigned into two experimental groups—Kahoot-based IRS and Quizlet-based IRS—and one control group. The results revealed that students in the Kahoot-based IRS remedial classroom demonstrated a significant positive effect overall on mathematics learning performance, learning interests, and choice, while the Quizlet-based IRS remedial classroom demonstrated a positive effect on learning interests, value, effort, and choice when compared with the traditional group.
