A growing number of individuals and organizations are engaging in knowledge translation work to support the integration of research into teachers’ practice. To date, there has been limited empirical research into how theoretical models of knowledge translation operate in practice in education. This mixed-methods case-study explores the factors that support and constrain effective utilization of research evidence by teachers. The findings suggest that it is not only necessary to provide teachers with a range of types of evidence, but also to build the capacity of teachers to make effective use of research. The study extends existing theoretical models of knowledge translation as well as contributing to a greater practical understanding of how knowledge translation operates in practice.
