3D design can effectively cultivate students' spatial thinking and engineering design ability, and has achieved many theoretical and practical results in STEM education. Traditional student engagement measurement focuses on the overall participation of students in teaching activities, and can not consider the participation of students in the process of 3D design. We designed a data collection method of 3D design course based on xAPI, and detected the student engagement through the click frequency of students. Levenshtein distance is used to analyze the similarity of students' 3D design operation and evaluate the quality of student engagement. This study provides a reference for the evaluation of student engagement in 3D design.
