Characteristics and Predictors of Reverse and Lateral Transfer From Bachelor's-Granting Institutions

Mon, April 20, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

The proposed study models transfer behavior using a national sample of students who initially enrolled at four-year institutions. Descriptive findings uncover salient characteristics associated with both reverse and lateral transfer as well as inequities in transfer. HGLM analyses identify student- and institution-level characteristics related to the odds of transfer. Findings have direct implications for both policies and practices focused on creating more equitable conditions for transfer and degree completion.
