To ensure that assessments do not depend on the gender, ethnicity or origin of a student, evaluations should be criteria-oriented, regardless of whether they are criterion referencing, norm referencing or ipsative referencing. We used a computer-based learning environment referring to strategic and mathematical educational models to support teachers and prospective teachers developing diagnostic competences for mathematics in grade four. In this simulated environment, teachers and prospective teachers are asked to assess the mathematical competences and misconceptions of 15 virtual students using a competency level model. The approach will be recorded using log data. We will show the processing patterns and their influence on the accuracy of assessment based on a competence level model in mathematical education.
