The effects of school climate and job satisfaction in the academic setting have been found in previous research to play an important role not only on the employees of the institution but also the students. One would suspect that the leaders of these institutions may have one of the greatest effects on educational outcomes, but scant research has examined the effects of principals’ perceived school climate. The present study sought to fill this gap by examining if a relationship exists between a principal’s perceived school climate (delinquency/violence; mutual respect) and their job satisfaction (work environment; position). This study also sought to examine if gender plays a moderating role in this proposed relationship.
