Finding Home: Clusters of Native American College Graduates National Patterns and Three Case Studies

Sat, April 18, 12:25 to 1:55pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

This study describes the location of Native American college graduates in relation to connection to family, assimilation policies, and desire to give back to tribal homelands. The study uses geographic information systems (GIS) to map the location of Native American college graduates from 2007-2011 American Community Survey data. Results summarize national patterns and focus on three historically unique areas in North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Chicago.
