In this phenomenological case study, we explore the mindfulness journey of one school administrator over 3 years to document the influence of personal mindfulness practice on the principal’s well-being and leadership. Specifically, we investigate: (a) how stress impacts principals’ daily work and decision making; (b) how principals could manage difficult situations after receiving a mindfulness-based professional development program; and (c) how principals could implement social emotional competencies and skills acquired through the SEL- based professional development program to foster a positive school climate.
