Mon, April 20, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

Critical thinking is the core element of learners' advanced thinking and knowledge innovation, and the cultivation of critical thinking has received increasing attention. The development of critical thinking through online learning activities has been widely favored by researchers. Based on this, this study uses the online collaborative learning platform to support the professional English course and conducts three rounds of effective topic discussion activities. It was found that online interactions between students are becoming more frequent; What is more, students' levels of critical thinking show an increasingly upward trend, in accordance with the cycle of “knowing-understanding-analyzing-evaluating-creating-reflecting”. Results will provide reference for the subsequent design of activities to cultivate critical thinking.
