This presentation argues that reflecting on teaching through the artistic medium of poetry can provide significant insights into what it is like to live through classroom moments. Using connoisseurship as a mode of inquiry, two poems and two respective interpretations are presented. These analyses are used as justifications for how and why poetry and connoisseurship can sharpen practitioners’ and scholars’ aesthetic perception of classroom teaching.
