Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative project is to explore the invasive nature of Whiteness impacting equitable access to education that prepares individuals to make contributions that challenge, rather than accommodate, oppressive practices that do not serve the public good. This daunting task requires a network of collaboration between different stakeholders in order to effect change. This qualitative project utilizes the methods of Scholarly Personal Narrative and dialogic inquiry to engage in collaborative self-excavation of personal experiences with race, class, and ethnicity and highlights the insidious influence of educational policies and practices that perpetuate racial hierarchies and reinforce White dominance. This collaborative self-excavation project reaffirms our commitment to advancing justice in educational opportunities for educationally marginalized students and the public good.
