One of the most demanding tasks of every society is to continuously attempt to establish and maintain an appropriate balance between politics, policy, ethics and law. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between ethics, law, and policy with the intent of distinguishing between as well as denoting the intersection of ethics, law, and policy as situated in education and related to educational leadership. Importantly, the authors argue that law and ethics are the scaffolding or supporting framework that guide the practice of the education profession.
