Abstract

As researchers disclose their positionalities when conducting qualitative studies, exploring the interactions of their research experiences and who they are as people is needed. We narratively inquired into our existing research texts using Rogers’ (1961) framework to learn about how our studies shaped us. We learned that we grew as people in different ways. We explored how our experiences shaped our research and how our research in turn shaped us as people. This work serves as a framework for others to do the same. As researchers navigate their personal and academic lives, exploring into their research experiences has the potential to contribute to their psychological well-being.
