This presentation synthesises the organizational issues that influence how Ontario’s education and child welfare sectors work with evidence to develop, enact, implement, monitor, and report on a cross-sector partnership working agreement to support youth living in out-of-home care. It is based in the findings of four studies that were conducted as part of a PhD dissertation project. The author reports on examples of good practice that were unearthed in the studies. In addition, the author identifies areas that were observed to be limiting the ability of partnership stakeholders to make better use of its evidence. Finally, practical recommendations concerning where further support could be provided to enhance a systematic approach to evidence-informed policy-making and implementation.
