The purpose of this paper is to explore new possibilities for college access policies in Ethiopia as higher education leaders aim to encourage more women to major in science and technology. An exploratory, sequential, mixed-methods approach was used in this study. First, qualitative data was collected (in the form of participant interviews) and analyzed. Then, a quantitative data collection instrument (a survey) was designed using results garnered from the qualitative data. Policy recommendations include: a reconsideration of academic tracking system, a reframing of the affirmative action policy for women, and a pause in university massification.
