This paper describes the development of an Indigenously-informed tool to assess the impact of Indigenous cultural safety training sessions across four post-secondary institutions on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. An Indigenous-led collaborative process was used to develop the tool in conjunction with literature on the intention-behaviour gap, and expanded to include Indigenous understandings and experiences of cultural safety. Based on the key issues and themes identified through this work, we developed a series of questions in conjunction with Elders, faculty, staff and students from the four institutions. Our aim is to assess the impact over time of Indigenous cultural safety as a foundation for institutions to ensure that these programs are having the intended impact and outcomes.
