The purpose of this study was to examine whether participating in the Jumpstart program, which integrated multiple high impact practices into its implementation, is associated with increased student outcomes including GPA, graduation rate, and years to graduation. The results indicated that Caucasian students possessed a higher overall GPA than Hispanic or Asian students; African American students took longer to graduate than did students from other ethnicities. Jumpstart participants were more likely to stay enrolled in their second year and had a higher likelihood of completing their degree than students in the comparison group. This study contributes to the body of literature on college students’ GPA, graduation rate, and years to graduation. Recommendations for implementation for higher education institutions are discussed.
