Analysis in the Structured (Un)Structure of Post-Intentional Phenomenology: Engaging With Analytic Possibilities of Educational Research

Abstract

In this paper I discuss an approach to qualitative inquiry analysis using post-intentional phenomenology, which, at least momentarily, illuminated the partial, fleeting, ever-shifting, productions and provocations of the phenomenon under study. I share the analysis matrix that emerged through the iterative and entangled 3-part analysis process ascribed in the methodology. Because post-intentional phenomenology provides both a loose structure for analysis and creates openings for each researcher to embrace the analytic path that emerges during the study, there are unlimited analytic possibilities that grow out of the structured (un)structure. By embracing the methodologically open—yet still delineated—means to analyze post-intentional phenomenon the boundaries of analysis in qualitative inquiry are extended.
