Militant Ethnography in Contemporary Educator Movements: Notes From a Rank-and-File Researcher

Fri, April 17, 12:00 to 1:30pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

Working in collaboration with educators, labor scholars are using engaged methodologies to support the self-reflections of organizers of grass-roots movements and highlight lessons from their work. In this paper, I draw on my research within a network of social justice caucuses to discuss using militant ethnography (Juris, 2008) to document, support, and analyze contemporary educator movements.
