This qualitative study explores the narrative of one Latino male counselor at a continuation high school in California. Three themes were identified: retention of counselors in continuation high schools; tensions of serving in continuation high schools; and advocating for students in continuation high schools. This paper provides recommendations for counselor educators, professional school counselors, and school district counseling personnel to consider in their efforts to support counselors and students in continuation high schools.
