Educators are increasingly using online platforms in schools as a means to design instructional curriculum for k-20 students. It is important that educational researchers understand how Emotional Design (ED) features factor into student learning outcomes within digitally designed learning platforms. Emotional Design features include utilizing color, shapes, personalized text, pictures, sound, and anthropomorphizing instructional content to guide the cognitive and affective processes of students. Emotional Design features can be utilized as a means to increase student interest and motivation to engage in learning content.
