The purpose of the project was to investigate how teacher educators prepare their student teachers to work in schools with growing diversity. One of the major challenges for teachers in modern times is the continuous search for pedagogy and approaches to meet the growing diversity within inclusive schools. School systems and teachers have to consider how they can respond.
Data was collected of 7 focus group discussions with 17 teacher educators. The data was analyzed through a phenomenological approach.
The findings shed light on what needs to be emphasized when developing educational programs that address growing student diversity and prepare students for future teaching.
