What Do Parents Want? Parents as Stakeholders in Digital Technology Use in Elementary Classrooms

Abstract

This paper explores parents' perspectives on their roles as stakeholders in digital technology use in elementary classrooms, specifically in regards to decision making. This qualitative study uses an ecological lens to further identify the relationships and the complexities of these relationships. The results consisted of four main themes: having a voice in the classroom, influences on parents' perspectives of technology, teachers wanting parents to be comfortable, and the communication gap about digital technology use.
