Abstract

The teaching profession calls for teachers that are professionals with theoretical, pedagogical and critical abilities to influence teaching. Our aim for this self-study was to collect data that would address how we develop learning spaces for student teachers to reflect on their professional working theory. This research is a critical collaborative self-study, where we the researchers and teacher educators focused both on the critical and the collaborative part of our teacher education practice. The results supports the importance a) of creating a learning space for students to make their PWT explicit; b) that teachers are empowered to become professionals with theoretical, pedagogical and critical abilities; and c) to give teachers opportunities to become cultural workers that take stance of critical matters.
