This study employed a mixed method sequential design to examine the influence of teacher – student relationship on student’s engagement of high school students with special needs, in the Biobio region of Chile. By employing quantitative and qualitative techniques the study findings provide important evidence of the role of teacher – students relationships in students’ life satisfaction, which in consequence positively influences school engagement.
