Partnerships for Educational Policy Implementation Within Rural Contexts: A Scoping Literature Review

Abstract

Research tells us that partnership and collaboration, in general, facilitate goal attainment and that within education they have been found to contribute to the success of specific programs and student achievement. It is also known that broad state and federal education policy is expected to be implemented by a diverse array of schools, districts, and communities. What is less known is the roll in which partnerships have in the implementation of such policies in communities often underrepresented in research, such as those in rural areas. This scoping review of empirical literature identifies gaps in the evidence base around the impact of partnership and collaboration in educational policy implementation within underrepresented areas.
