This design case discusses our process and challenges for designing a STEM Coding Summer Camp program that engaged underserved and underrepresented K-12 students. We designed a week-long camp for the summer and worked with two teachers, one computer scientist, and multiple STEM experts to provide much integrated camp experience to ten students. We describe our design strategies, challenges, and design changes. We also present positive outcomes of this camp and future design considerations to inform those who may be interested in designing camp programs for K-12 students.
