A Critical Policy Analysis Framework to Inform Research on Socioeconomic Integration as an Equity-Driven Reform

Sat, April 18, 12:25 to 1:55pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

As researchers and faculty affiliated with one of four US regional Equity Assistance Centers, we draw from critical policy scholarship to propose a theoretical framework for the study of the contexts and impacts of equity-driven education reform. We propose implications for future studies on socioeconomic integration (SEI) policy implementation as a particular and unique example of such reform, in part due to its potential to employ “post-racial” or “race-elusive” approaches despite entrenchment of racial segregation in US public schools.
