Service-learning actively engages students in the learning process (Jenkins & Sheehey, 2009). We need all educator to enter the classroom experienced, knowledgeable, and capable in supporting diverse learners, including students with disabilities. A university researcher and an organizational leader unpack student learning and the importance of authenticity in service-learning partnerships. This paper shares findings from a five year implementation of service-learning and a study of student written reflections (n= 244) on service-learning experiences with students with disabilities. This paper also provides practical guidance on establishing partnerships with organizational stakeholders in our community supporting children and adults with disabilities.
