Thinking Freire: Can Text Be Dialogic?

Mon, April 20, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

Utilizing Freirean thought as a foundation for critical and theoretical inquiry, this paper brings together four perspectives as a basis for ongoing critical discourse. These include: a) the foundation of Freire’s work; b) established academic intellectuals engaging in scholarly reflections on Freire and his work; and written responses to these established scholars by both c) junior faculty and d) organic intellectuals. Within these interactions, the authors ask one key question: can text be dialogic?
