Lost in Translation: The Intersection of Research (Methods, Ethics, and Dissemination) and Intellectual Disability

Sun, April 19, 12:25 to 1:55pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

This paper explores the experiences of an interdisciplinary team engaged in Participatory Action Research (PAR) during a multi-year federally funded grant working with and for people who identify as having an intellectual disability. Specifically, we look at the team’s interaction with the method (PAR) and research practices (both those that are generally practiced and those that we adapted to meet our team’s needs and goals).
