The purpose of this study was to determine the impacts of the Teach for All (TFA) program in Bulgaria as implemented by Teach for Bulgaria (TFB) organization. The quasi-experimental design included matched groups of TFB and comparison teachers (approximately 70 each), their students, and school leaders. Adapted instruments consisted of a protocol for direct observation of classrooms, student self-report of socioemotional skills pre and post, and participant surveys and interviews. The groups were found to be comparable, and sufficient matched data were collected to meet the design requirements. The major finding was that the TFB teachers demonstrated significantly more qualities related to effective teaching than comparison teachers. More analyses remain to be completed.
