In keeping with the conference theme, this paper demonstrate how researching alongside primary stakeholders in education can produce justice-oriented learning outcomes for students. These outcomes resulted from an interdisciplinary service learning course co-created with stakeholders in two Title 1 schools. It is our contention that using a Community Based Research (CBR) pedagogy that partnered students with primary education stakeholders enabled students to learn firsthand what it takes to create more just communities. Through these experiences, students demonstrated that being immersed in Title 1 educational environments changed the way they think about inequality, privilege, service to others, and their own positionality. The authors of this paper represent a school leader, service learning professional, and education faculty.
