The diagnostic classification models for analyzing Holland’s RIASEC data is proposed to assess individuals’ career interests and provide classification information for individuals to make decision with respect to career choice. This framework not only helps individuals understand themselves in terms of career development but also provides valuable information for teachers or career counselors to aid those individuals who have difficulty in career development. The method is illustrated using a RIASEC dataset collected from junior students in Hong Kong with the Career Interest Inventory (Hong Kong version) instrument for career interest assessment.
