A Self-Study on Relational Teacher Education: How Teacher Candidates Understand Practices to Promote Relationships

Abstract

Teacher educators translate their research findings about relational practice into classroom practices. This self-study examines teacher candidate and researcher perceptions of these modified practices and their efforts to prioritize relationship building curriculum. Relational pedagogies are examined for educational and humanistic purposes. How teacher candidates feel in relation to their professor and how they understand efforts to form relationship are examined. Examination into teacher candidate possible future practice is elucidated.
