Detriments in student academics and discipline are linked to teacher implicit bias. This study evaluated whether implicit bias reduction attempts over the last five years have had an impact on teachers’ implicit biases as compared with the overall population. Data from the Project Implicit website was cleaned, analyzed, and interpreted to evaluate patterns and trends. Teacher implicit bias did not differ significantly from the general population federally, but differed significantly in several states. Some states had high rates of positive or negative change in teacher implicit bias and represented states with the highest and lowest implicit bias levels in the nation. These states offer opportunities for researcher-practitioner collaborative partners that will further understandings of implicit bias intervention efficacy.
